Where's All The Dust? It all blew off of you. You traded your dirt for a real cool shirt. And while you're out there playing dead instead, the folks back home are all dying for noise again. There's now rust on a once well oiled machine. One that could blast through stone. Now everytime we try to put it into drive. The engine just dies Chorus We won't be changed; we'll just be different. When the music finally ends. There will be trees growing in the wastelands again. But until than, I wanna know. Chorus Where's All The Dust? It all blew off of you.

You hunt for love like a vulture over an icy sea. And with your eagle eyes you look down and now you're falling quickly for me. You drop hints like you're juggling bombs in your bedroom. You drop hints like you're juggling pies while your wife's gone. You drove me down to your favorite shady record store. Gee, you sure know a lot about where the downtown boys hangout in the park at night. And I can tell you, that you're unwell, but I don't want what you got to sell. Hope you didn't really believe that your daydream could really succeed. It's okay cause we've all been there and sometimes it all works out. And I'll admit I"ve been curious but that ship's sailed and it's never coming back. And I see her now waiting for you to come home. And all the beer and the dope and the cigarette smoke might hide a bigger secret inside. I know now what I didn't know then but I'm still gonna be your friend. But you've disappeared over that stormy sea and I wonder if you'll ever find land. Well, I can tell that you just need to yell we're all just riding around on hell's carousel. Hope you didn't really believe that your daydream could really succeed. You can't hide who you are inside.

about

This album only cost me the price of a 4lb pot roast, some snowmobile fuel, and a few joints to make.
Tracking took only a few hours for the whole album.

released May 1, 2020

All songs were written by Dylan McKenzie-Trost (except "Dark End Of The Street.")*

All instruments were played by Dylan McKenzie-Trost (except "New Years Eve Blooz)**

Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Pete Gummerson in a yurt on the Yellow Dog River near Big Bay, Michigan. A Honda generator supplied the electricity to make this record. This is a shameless plug for Honda generators; go buy one.

A Tascam Portastudio 4-Track tape machine was used for all the tracks on this record.

Artwork by Gretchen McKenzie-Trost

Special thanks to Pete Gummerson. You are my George Martin and I am forever indebted to you. This record would not have happened without you. Thanks to my wife, Gretchen, for relentlessly supporting, inspiring, and encouraging me. Thanks to all of the musicians that have played with me over the years. Thanks to all of you for listening.

*"Dark End Of The Street" is credited to songwriters Dan Penn and Chips Moman and was originally performed by James Carr (1967). I paid to use the track on this record. Check the original song out if you are unfamiliar. It's amazing.

**"New Years Eve Blooz" credits:
Pete Gummerson: Keyboards
Devyn Trost- Drums
Dylan McKenzie-Trost: Guitars, vocals, percussion
Gretchen McKenzie-Trost: Bass
Mike Bjella: Saxophone, percussion
